"American Pickers" may have its home base in Iowa, but it rarely visits its neighbors directly to the North. The hit History Channel series will try to make nice by filming in Minnesota throughout the month of August.

Antique experts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, along with their team, will be scouring the state for under-appreciated valuables ranging from vintage pinball machines to folk art.

The show has been a solid performer for History since its debut six years ago. In the first quarter of 2016, it averaged 3.15 million viewers, making it 8th among total viewers in the category of unscripted cable series.

While the series focuses on the Midwest more than most reality-based shows, the pair have favored South Dakota and Wisconsin more than our fair state. It did film two Minnesota-based episodes that aired in December 2011.
