Allen ranks among dirtiest players

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Jared Allen is a wonderful interview, a great guy in the lockerroom, apparently a very good teammate, and a tremendous player. Acquiring him ranks as one of the best moves made under Wilf, Childress and Spielman.
He is also, as I wrote last year, a borderline dirty player. He is willing to violate the letter and spirit of rules designed to protect the quarterback.

Here's confirmation from within the ranks of NFL players. The boys at Access Vikings note that Allen ranked 10th on a list of dirtiest players in the NFL.www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/blogs/69171142.html

As Jerry Seinfeld once said, ``Not that there is anything wrong with that."

I've always said it made a cynical kind of sense to risk a 15-yard penalty in an effort to knock out the opposing starting quarterback. Unless, of course, the opposing starting quarterback is Derek Anderson.
