St. Paul's Lowertown promises to be an active place Monday and Tuesday as the St. Paul Saints host the American Association All-Star Game at CHS Field.

The game pitting players from northern division teams against those from the south is at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, but festivities in and around the award-winning ballpark begin Monday with a celebrity softball game, a home run derby and performances by the Chris Hawkey Band and Soul Asylum.

All the fun will bring road closures to the area, so be prepared for impromptu detours in the area around the stadium. That's in addition to road construction has Shepard and Warner roads closed and Jackson Street off limits to motorists.

Transit riders will have to catch Metro Transit and Minnesota Valley Transit Authority buses in alternate locations as buses will be rerouted between 4:30 and 10 p.m. Monday and 5:30 to 11 p.m. Tuesday. Most buses will be shifted onto Kellogg Blvd. and Robert Street as they make their way to 5th and Minnesota. The affected routes are 294, 350, 351, 353, 361, 364, 417, 480, 484 and 860. Specifics can be found on Metro Transit's Rider Alert page.

Fans opting to drive, take note that the city's event parking rates will be in effect at meters east of Minnesota Street and south of E. 7th Street. The rate is $2.50 per hour starting at 6 p.m.
