All day Friday, Lyndsey Robson felt good. Although the Apple Valley senior had never before experienced a basketball victory over rival Eastview at any level, for some reason, she said she felt a confident.

Robson's intuition was spot-on. The guard helped the Eagles to a 74-63 victory over Eastview, ending a losing streak to their crosstown rivals that had lasted more than a decade.

"To be honest, I had a weird feeling all day," Robson said. "A really good feeling. I just knew we would win."

Robson become the leading scorer in the history of Apple Valley's girls basketball team Tuesday, topping 2,000 career points in a rout of Eagan. Friday, she took a supporting role behind two of her teammates, junior center Brynne Rolland with 23 points, and senior guard Sara Teske with 19. Robson, who finished with 14, said that is the beauty of this season's Eagles.

"We have so many good players," Robson said. "It's not just one person."

The first four minutes of the game looked like so many others between these two teams. Eastview took a 10-0 lead before Apple Valley coach Jeremy Gordon called a timeout.

"We were a little jittery," Gordon said. "But I told them the game isn't won or lost in the first five minutes. We've come back in the past. "

Things turned around quickly after that. Apple Valley (16-2) held Eastview (14-4) without a field goal for more than eight minutes, taking a 27-21 halftime lead. The Eagles extended their lead in the second half, leading by as many as 15 points and never letting the margin slip below seven.

Finally beating Eastview is the biggest victory of her prep career, Robson said, but she's anticipating more.

"The only time I've ever beaten Eastview is in powder puff football, so this is pretty big," she said. "But we don't want this to be the biggest victory of the year. We want to keep this going."
