While perusing automobile advertisements, a shopper spotted what he thought was a good deal on a 2011 vehicle. The ad claimed the dealer had at least 45 of the models in stock, but the dealership told a different story to the customer. He was directed to a slightly used vehicle that leased for about $20 more per month than the advertised price.

When the shopper said he wanted the deal in the ad, he was told the featured car had already been taken and no identical vehicles were in stock. The would-be customer thinks the ad intentionally misled customers into thinking there were at least 45 new vehicles available at the advertised price.

Have you ever pursued a sweet-sounding deal that didn't really exist for most shoppers?
