The decade-long Vikings great, now wearing a Saints uniform, took his first carry 9 yards. He was nailed by Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks on his very next first-quarter carry, but Peterson didn't show any jitters in front of his former home crowd.

As expected, the Saints used a three-man rotation at running back. Rookie Alvin Kamara and veteran Mark Ingram both got into the mix early and Peterson was back on the field for the final carry of the first quarter.

In a highly-anticipated trip back to Minnesota, Vikings fans saw a bit early on of what made Peterson a longtime favorite in the Twin Cities.
