The Vikings have downgraded running back Adrian Peterson (foot/groin) from doubtful to out for Sunday's season finale against the Lions at the Metrodome.

Head coach Leslie Frazier said on Friday he wasn't going to allow Peterson talk his way on the field "unless something dramatically changes." Matt Asiata will start at running back with Toby Gerhart also out due to a hamstring injury.

Peterson attempted to play through the foot and groin issues against the Bengals last Sunday and had just 11 carries for 45 yards.

It'll be the second game Peterson misses this season. He'll finish with 1,266 rushing yards this season, the second lowest total in Peterson's career (Peterson had 970 yards in 2011 when he tore his ACL).
