The Vikings' inactive list has just been released at Mall of America field for today's game against Jacksonville. And there is one very notable player NOT on that list: running back Adrian Peterson.

The wait is over. The Vikings star will be given the green light to play this afternoon in the season opener. That should send a charge of excitement through the Metrodome. The roars promise to be loud the first time Peterson takes the field and the first time he touches the ball.

The seven players on the Vikings' inactive list today: receiver Jarius Wright, linebackers Marvin Mitchell and Audie Cole, safety Andrew Sendejo, cornerback A.J. Jefferson, offensive lineman Mark Asper and quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson.
