VIKINGS DAY 2 SELECTION
2nd round, No. 62: Brian O'Neill, OT, Pittsburgh
Jamaal Stephenson, Vikings director of college scouting, said the 6-7, 297-pounder might have been the most athletic offensive tackle in the draft. O'Neill is a former college tight end who has since played right and left tackle. He started all 12 games at left tackle last season. The year before, he started all 13 games at right tackle. He was a two-way scholastic standout on a state championship team in Wilmington, Del. Some draft evaluators believe he could play guard. The Vikings have some flexibility with him. O'Neill has never played guard, so look for him to open as a challenger for the starting right tackle job.
