The new owners of Taste of Minnesota promised new flavors and that's obvious from the announcement of their first musical headliner: Judas Priest. England's enduring heavy-metal heroes will appear July 3 at Harriet Island along with Whitesnake.

"It's the most money we've ever spent on a group," said Ron Maddox, the longtime operator of Taste, who sold the event last year but remains its general manager.

More headliners for the July 2-5 fest will be announced later. The other new wrinkle for Taste is a $10 admission fee but festgoers get $10 worth of food/drink coupons with each paid admission.
