A sampler of '40 for 40' events celebrating the Loft Literary Center's anniversary

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Loft Literary Center, folks are holding 40 fundraisers Aug. 21-22. Events are ticketed, and most cost $5 to $25 with a few pricier ones. Some are sold out. A "golden ticket" to everything is available for $1,000. Here's a sampler of events:

FRIDAY

8 a.m.: Group bike ride to all of the locations where the Loft has been for 40 years. $15.

Noon: Lunch with the Loft staff, including the new executive director. $20.

5 p.m.: Network with other freelancers as well as editors, producers, art directors and creative directors. $20.

8:30 p.m.: Stories and s'mores along the riverbank, with Kevin Kling and Ken Abdo. $100.

SATURDAY

8 a.m.: Yoga for writers. $10.

11 a.m.: Brunch with Lorna Landvik. $20.

5:30 p.m.: Party at author R.D. Zimmerman's house with Loft founder Marly Rusoff. $100.

6 p.m.: Go bowling with Loft program director Bao Phi. $50.

8 p.m.: Party with everyone! $10.
