Kim Yeager, one of the Homegirls bloggers, left the Star Tribune yesterday. A longtime editor in Home+Garden, she wrote extensively about the home decor and home design market in the Twin Cities and truly left her mark on the section. But what I really admire about Kim is her incredible taste and creative abilities - and how that applies to a home.

She worked closely with the Strib designers and photographers to find photographic and illustrative solutions for her stories- and other staffer's work in the section. She spent countless hours looking for the right props for photo shoots and creating her own illustrations. She made it look really simple - just like Martha Stewart.

She is one of those people that can do anything: pick fabric, paint colors, style a room, accessorize, arrange flowers, set a beautiful table. How I wish I could do even a few of those skills well! Here is a sampling of her work if you missed it in the section.

Kim made these for a story on May baskets

A tabletop she styled. Love this!

Kim did a story on wrapping gifts for the holidays. If you missed the ideas, go here.

It's wonderful to have buddies who have skills like this. I can help my friends with home renovation projects- like removing wallpaper, tiling etc. But I'm intimidated by this kind of home decor challenge.

So we wish Kim well in her next endeavor: I'm confident she will be a huge success. And Kim, if you have time, please stop by my house.
