Avalanche Passes Wild for eighth

The Wild and Avalanche are battling for the final Western Conference playoff spot. Colorado won 3-1 late Wednesday at Vancouver to move one point ahead of the Wild (76 vs. 75). Minnesota has 12 games remaining, while the Avalanche has 11 to play.
