Andrew Stelter was given a nutrition plan as a freshman that required him to consume 7,000 calories a day. Stelter provided a snapshot of a typical day of eating:
Breakfast: Two glasses of milk; six to seven eggs; a side of ham, bacon or sausage; breakfast potatoes or oatmeal; fruit.
Midmorning snack: Several handfuls of peanuts, almonds or pistachios; or protein shake; or peanut butter sandwich.
Lunch: Two turkey sandwiches on whole grain bread; fruit.
Afternoon snack: Bag of peanuts.
Dinner: Large salad, four chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, two pieces of salmon, fruits, vegetables.
Late-night snack: Protein shake or yogurt parfait.
