A dozen adults and juveniles were detained in downtown St. Paul on Saturday after residents of a condominium building reported being harassed by a group that was loitering in a private area of the skyway, St. Paul police reported.

The incident happened in a private property section of the skyway at 406 Wacouta St. across from Mears Park in the city's Lowertown district, said police Cmdr. Tim Flynn.

Two of the five adults were booked and jailed, one on a warrant for a previous crime, and the other for giving the police a false name and address. The other three adults were ticketed for trespassing and were released.

One juvenile was arrested and jailed "based on a previous warrant," Flynn said. The other six juveniles were cited for trespassing and turned over to their parents.

"No force was used by officers," Flynn said, meaning that the group complied with police orders.
