On Saturday, March 10th at 4 PM Lift Bridge will be hosting an event for the release of their latest brew, Irish Coffee Stout. The $10 dollar ticket, which is available for purchase online, will get you a commemorative glass and a free beer in the taproom. Some tickets may be available at the door but I wouldn’t risk missing out on this event.

The beer itself is a confederation of all things Ireland: whiskey, coffee, and beer. This ale started out as a Russian Imperial Stout and was then aged in whiskey barrels, before being blended with a Milk Stout and infused with cold pressed local coffee. It checks in at 8% ABV so be sure to plan your ride ahead of time. It can be purchased onsite in 750 ml bottles for $12; definitely a good buy, especially if you plan on sharing with a friend.

At the event you can expect to be entertained by the celtic quintet The Langers Ball from St. Paul, Minnesota. The night will also feature games, local cuisine from the Patriot’s Tavern (for purchase), irish toasts and much more.

If anyone knows how to throw a party in the East metro it’s Lift Bridge Brewing. Their previous events have been great and Trevor, Brad, Steve, Jim, and Dan are not afraid to chat it up with the local beer geeks and they are always good for a laugh. If you have not made it out to the brewery yet, you owe it to yourself to make the short drive. Lift Bridge is the the first brewery in Stillwater, Minnesota since prohibition and they are doing some fantastic things out there.

On a side note, Lift Bridge is now available in bottles again at your favorite liquor store—a move that has been long overdue!
