A better but breezy Sunday; snowflakes by the end of the week?

Not sure about you, but I feel like a wet dog. My coat is still damp and my closest friends have been shrieking when I shake it off.

Yesterday's rain accumulated to more than 1 inch at the MSP airport, the wettest start to any year on record from Jan. 1 to Oct. 5. We're also currently sitting in the 7th wettest year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31) on record and only 3 inches away from the top spot of 40.32 inches set in 2016. If we see average precipitation through the rest of 2019, we'll shatter that record.

Twin Cities Marathon runners will be happy to know that today's weather will be much drier than yesterday. A breezy west wind will help push them along as they turn toward the finish line on Summit Avenue. Good luck, runners!

Dry skies welcome Twins fans at Target Field on Monday as bombas rain down in the outfield.

Another storm arrives late week with enough cold air to potentially bring us some of the first flakes of the season on Friday. Ready or not, here we go.
