It was smooth sailing for commuters today. Tuesday's morning rush could be a little interesting if the predicted snow arrives during the morning rush.
Timing will mean everything. The National Weather Service says 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected with snow and possibly freezing rain before 9 a.m., then turning to all snow. Stay tuned to the weather reports.
But today was nearly problem free on the roads. Just minor congestion in the usual spots kept things from being perfect. The one oddity was that a car lost its axle on westbound Hwy. 10 near Round Lake Road. The axle landed in the eastbound lanes and was hit by a motorist.
