Wet roads and a smattering of crashes were enough to cause some slow downs during the Monday morning commute.

A power pole repair project tangled traffic on eastbound 694 from 35E over to Hwy. 61 in White Bear Lake, an unusual slow down for that area. A crash on the westbound side kept things clogged for the middle portion of the rush. That added 10 to 15 minutes to the drive each way.

In Minneapolis, a power outage knocked out traffic signals in the area of Lowry Avenue and Washington Avenue N.

Northbound 35W saw a crash a Black Dog Road around 7:45 a.m. bogged down the drive from County Road 42 up to the Minnesota River. That wreck cleared around 8:45 a.m. but left lots of congestion in its wake.

Conditions are back to nomral on northbound Hwy. 61 in Newport. A center lane blocking crash led to a backup that kicked in around 70th Street around 7:50 a.m.

For those who consulted MnDOT's 511 system, a hiccup knocked the system off line. NO accident reports were available all morning. The agency is working on getting that fixed.

I-394 moved slower than ususal between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. with crashes at Hopkins Crossroad and Hwy. 169. The trip from 494 into downtown Minneapolis was 15 minutes at the peak of the delays. Currently it's around 9 to 11 minutes.

Transit operators didn't report any problems on Monday.
