Delays on I-35 between County Road 2 in Elko and County Road 70 in Lakeville did not develop as expected this morning, but a project on the Mendota Bridge made for headaches for drivers on the Crosstown.

Even at this hour eastbound traffic on the Crosstown is backed up to near Bloomington Avenue due to the single lane configuration on the Mendota.

Construction is also slowing traffic on 694 between Hwy. 252 and University Avenue at this hour.

Our worst commutes continute to be on northbound 35W from Crosstown to downtown Minneapolis and along westbound 94 from 694 in Woodbury to downtown Minneapolis. That drive is still taking close to 30 minutes.

Eastbound 394 also has pockets of stop and go traffic with the slow stuff from Hwy. 169 to Dunwoody Blvd.

That's it for today. I'll be back Thursday with your look at morning traffic. As always, questions and story ideas welcome at drive@startribune.com
