A deer crossing the eastbound lanes of I-94 in Maple Grove earlier this morning led to accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, the State Patrol said.

The deer struck an eastbound vehicle and a motorcyclist in the vicinity of 101st Avenue about 6:15 a.m. The collision caused the motorcyclist to tip over. The rider sustained non-life threatening injuries, the patrol said.

The incident blocked traffic for about 45 minutes and caused a back up that streched several miles to Hwy. 241 in St. Michael.

Names of the parties invovled have not been released.

Currently the only snag on the system is a fender bender on the ramp from southbound 494 at Hwy. 55 in Plymouth.

I'll be back Monday with a look at your morning commute. Enjoy the weekend.
