8 a.m. update: Current drive times

Traffic is starting to get thick on eastbound 94 approaching Franklin Avenue where MnDOT has the right lane closed for a painting project. The heavy traffic starts at Cedar Avenue. And this just in: A fender bender is off on the right shoulder on the Mississippi River bridge.

In the southeast metro, road work has returned to Hwy. 55/52 in Inver Grove Heights. Expect some delays as from 117th Avenue to en Inver Grove Trail until 1 p.m. today.

Southbound 494 from 94 down to 394: 8 minutes
