Some solace for northbound 35W drivers: MnDOT and the State Patrol have moved the vehicles involved in a crash at Lyndale Avenue off to the left shoulder. All lanes are back open, but don't expect to gain much speed. Congestion ahead from Diamond Lake Road into downtown Minneapolis will make the trip from Lyndale to 5th Avenue 12 minutes.
Other trouble spots include:
- Eastbound 394 from Xenia Avenue past a stalled vehicle on the shoulder just east of Hwy. 100
- Westbound 694 at Hwy. 252 with the right shoulder blocked with a crash
- Southbound 35E at County Road J. Two vehicles are on the right shoulder
- Eastbound 494 at France Avenue and westbound 494 at Hwy. 5. Crashes in both locations
And in downtown Minneapolis, the fire at 155 5th Av. S. is out, however, fire crews still have the area around the 10-story building blocked off. That will impact traffic on Portland Avenue, 2nd Street and 5th Avenue S. Authorities are requesting motorists stay away from the area.
