8:15 a.m. update: Sluggish on 494 in west metro

The drive on southbound 494 is sluggish from the Fish Lake Interchange down to I-394. After a brief interlude, it's back to thick conditions from Stone Road past Hwy. 7. That is where we have a stall sitting on the right shoulder. It's a good 30 minutes from the Fish Lake split down to Hwy. 212.

Westbound 94 is starting to look a bit better from Hudson into downtown St. Paul. An earlier crash left a line of solid traffic in its wake. Travel times are down to 25 minutes from the Hudson Bridge into downtown St. Paul.

And it's more debris in the lanes of southbound 35E at Labore Road in Little Canada. That has been a tough route all day with a couple earlier crashes on 35E at County H2 and County 96. Those are gone. Plan on 24 minutes from the Forest Lake Split into downtown St. Paul.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
