8:05 a.m. update: Motorcyclist killed on Hwy. 61 in Red Wing

Word from the Minnesota State Patrol is that a fatal crash that killed a scooter rider is the reason Hwy. 61 is closed at Hill Street in downtown Red Wing.

Word from the Minnesota State Patrol is that a fatal crash that killed a scooter rider is the reason Hwy. 61 is closed at Hill Street in downtown Red Wing.

In an unrelated incident, authorities are assisting a motorcyclist that went down on westbound Hwy. 610 in the vicinity of the Mississippi River bridge. Initial word was that the rider got up and was walking around.

Traffic on westbound 610 is clogged up starting at University Avenue.
