Minnesota authorities canceled an alert Sunday night after a 7-year-old girl and her father who were being sought by Bloomington police were found safely.
The child, Alyssa Mariel-Lorraine Lafountain, was with her father, David Charles Lafountain, 40, at a relatives' home in Vermont, Bloomington police said. Both were in good health.
Family members and authorities were concerned about the father's ability to properly care for his daughter. She is fed through a feeding tube and requires a specific diet. Police said she has food allergies, so if her diet is not followed, she may have an allergic reaction.
