The scanners have been broadcasting nonstop calls for help as icy roads have contributed to scores of crashes across the metro.

The latest include a multi-car crash on northbound Hwy. 52 at Concord Blvd. in Inver Grove Heights.

To the east, commuters coming into St. Paul from Wisconsin will be held up due to a pair of wrecks on westbound 94 in the Hudson area.

A frightening situation is unfolding in Vadnais Heights. A vehicle rolled over at the bottom of the ramp from County Road E to southbound 35E. The vehicle landed in the ditch and the driver is trapped. Look for lots of emergency vehicles in the area.

A multi-car mess at Hwy. 36/Hwy. 280 and 35W in Roseville has traffic bunched up on 36 all the way back to 35E. Plan on 20 mintues to get through that area.

It's not nice on northbound 35W either. A crash at 36th Street just cleared. Expect off and on slow downs from 66th Street into downtown Minneapolis.
