7:30 a.m. update: Avoid 169 in north metro if possible

This is the day to try out 494 or 100 if you are heading south on 169 in the north and west metro, unless you have 30 minutes or more to kill on the road.

A truck broke an axle and is parked in the left lane of southbound Hwy. 169 at Plymouth Avenue. The back up extends back to 94.

This is the day to try out 494 or 100 if you are heading south, unless you have 30 minutes or more to kill on the road.

Look for a fresh crash on northbound 35W just before 494. It's off on the right shoulder. Ahead, things jam up from Crosstown to Lake Street due to a stall on the right shoulder at 42nd Street.

You will find building levels of congestion on 694 in both directions between 35W and 35E.

Look for pockets of slow traffic on westbound 94 coming in to downtown St. Paul, and on southbound 35E from Hwy. 36 to 94.
