This is the scene on westbound I-494 at Piper Road, which is between Hwy. 110 and Delaware Avenue in Mendota Heights. Traffic is stacked up back at Hwy. 52.
As you can see, traffic is bumper to bumper. All this is due to a police pursuit that ended ahead with a crash at Dodd Road. The State Patrol has the right lane closed. The fleeing driver hit stop sticks that resulted in the driver crashing.
The Drive has an inquiry into the patrol to find out what led to the incident, but has not heard back yet.
