5:30 a.m. update: The slow drive begins

With road conditions in fair conditions, look for a difficult drive to work or school. Roads are wet, icy and snow packed in places.

So far, only a few incidents on the roads, but traffic is relatively light at this hour.

One trouble spot includes a crash on eastbound 494 at 7th Avenue in South St. Paul. Look for slow downs beginning at Concord.

Metro Tranist, MVTA and Southwest Transit buses are operating today. Metro Transit is reporting an average delay of 3 minutes. Light rail and Northstar Commuter trains are running on time.
