Playoff games are often decided by favorable bounces and Rochester Lourdes enjoyed its share in the Friday's Class 3A state football tournament semifinal against Albany.

Connor Nellans appeared to have picked up six yards on a second quarter run when the ball squirted loose and bounced toward Adam Lentz. The senior running back wasted no time, running 84 yards for a touchdown to establish a 14-7 lead that No. 1 Albany (12-1) could not overcome. Lentz also shined when handed or pitched the ball, rushing 33 times for 250 yards and two touchdowns as the second-ranked Eagles (13-0) won 22-7 and advanced to their first title game since winning the 1979 Class 1A championship.
