Three people suffered injuries when they were shot at by someone in a passing vehicle while driving west on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis on Saturday evening, police said. It is not clear whether all of them were shot or sustained other kinds of injuries.

They pulled off the freeway and made their way to the parking lot of a Taco Bell in north Minneapolis to seek help and were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale for treatment of noncritical injuries, authorities said.

According to Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder, just after 5 p.m., a white car pulled alongside the passenger side of the victims' vehicle and opened fire through a window. Both cars exited the freeway at Dowling Avenue N., where the victims headed to a Taco Bell on W. Broadway. Someone at the restaurant called 911.

Police continue to search for the white vehicle. Scanner traffic indicated that the two suspects were driving a white Chevy Impala with pink upholstery and a pink steering wheel.
