2A semis: After one, Minnetonka and Hill-Murray tied 1-1

The Pioneers tied it late on a fluky play, beginning with a deflection off the glass

March 13, 2010 at 3:19AM

We here at the Star Tribune generally do not cheer for specific teams to win games*. However, I know one writer who's smiling just a little bit right now ...

Andrew Prochno's ninth goal of the season with 4:51 to play in the first period made it 1-0 for the Skippers.

With just 28 seconds left, Chris Casto tied it. Kind of a weird play. The initial shot into the zone went over Jim Kruger's head, off the glass and back toward the goal. Somehow, the puck wound up on the stick of Casto, and he just got it under Kruger's leg pad.

*Except on Sundays when we're not officially on the clock. In the fall. For certain teams who play with an oblong ball.
