A 20-year-old Anoka man was killed after being thrown from a vehicle in a rollover crash late Friday in the north metro suburb of Ramsey, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

Officials are continuing to investigate the rollover, which took place about 10:50 p.m. along St. Francis Boulevard near Alpine Drive.

Police officers arrived at the scene of the rollover and found Joeseph Donald Anderson dead on the roadway, according to the Sheriff's Office.

They also found a 21-year-old man who had exited the vehicle and had minor injuries. The 21-year-old was initially arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide after several witnesses said they believed that he was the one driving at the time of the crash, according to deputies.

The man, who denied being the driver, was later released after officials viewed security footage from a nearby gas station that showed Anderson getting into the driver's side of the vehicle, not the 21-year-old.
