Two suspects are being sought in the shooting death of a Minneapolis man during an early-morning invasion of his apartment last month in south Minneapolis, according to authorities.
Frank K. Patterson IV, 48, was shot about 4:30 a.m. on March 4 in his apartment in the 2800 block of Cedar Avenue S. He died from a gunshot to his abdomen about 40 minutes later.
Brother Carl Payne said Patterson's 17-year-old son saw his father shot, and two others also were in the home.
Along with saying two male suspects are being sought — authorities have released only scant descriptions of the assailants — police added Wednesday that they are also looking for the weapon used to kill Patterson, a black 9-millimeter semiautomatic handgun.
Police also said they believe the two suspects live near Patterson's home.
A reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers is being offered for information that helps solve the crime.

Patterson moved to the Twin Cities from Memphis in 1976 and graduated from North High School, where he played the drums. He had been living on disability after injuring his back in a fall from a ladder while house painting.
