A woman was killed and five other people were seriously injured late Friday when a car drove through a stop sign and struck another vehicle broadside in Meeker County, west of the Twin Cities.

A Dodge Charger being driven south on County Road 14 by Noelle A. Pridgen, 28, of Brandon, Fla., went through the stop sign and struck a Dodge Magnum headed west on Hwy. 12 at 11:38 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

The Magnum's driver, Billy Crottier, 35, of Litchfield, Minn., and his two children, Zachary Crottier, 7, and Alexis Crottier, 3, were seriously injured. Pridgen and her passenger, Tamya Hill, 20, of Kittery, Maine, also suffered serious injuries.

A 36-year-old woman who was a passenger in Crottier's car was killed. While the patrol has not yet released her name, its report identified her as Crottier's wife.

The patrol's preliminary report said alcohol was not detected in either driver.

All of the injured were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, except for Alexis Crottier, who was taken to Meeker County Hospital in Litchfield.
