Your next 'American Idol' judges are ... still a mystery

August 3, 2010 at 12:39AM

LOS ANGELES - The "American Idol" speculation will go another round.

Fox Network executives told TV critics at their summer press tour Monday that no new talent has been signed to replace Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres as judges on the country's No. 1 program, and they refused to say whether Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi would return.

"I truly wished we were going to walk out here with a panel of judges," said Fox Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice. "I'm really sorry, that's not going to happen."

Rumors continued to mount that Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Jessica Simpson may all be involved in the show when its 10th season begins in January. Rice did say that the full panel will be chosen by mid-September, in time for auditions.

Others addressing the TV writers Monday included chef Gordon Ramsay, actress Keri Russell and Oscar winners Cloris Leachman and Jon Voight.
