A 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed in a late-night confrontation in his home in Worthington, Minn., by a man who was upset about being owed money and being called a racial slur, according to charges filed Monday.
Chim “Monkey” LoVan, 46, of Worthington, was charged in Nobles County District Court with second-degree murder and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. LoVan remains in custody.
The man LoVan allegedly stabbed early Friday at a home in the 1000 block of Oslo Street was identified by authorities as Blue Oudon Thyboualoy.
Police arrived at the home late Friday afternoon and saw a bleeding Thyboualoy curled up on a mattress, the complaint says. Before he died, Thyboualoy said he was stabbed while trying to close the door on his attacker, who he identified as “Monkey.”
