Women's Frozen Four preview

The Gophers join Wisconsin, Clarkson and Boston College in New Hampshire for this weekend's NCAA championship.

Minnesota (33-4-1): The third-seeded Gophers are the defending national champs. Senior Hannah Brandt was named the Most Outstanding Player at last year's Frozen Four.

Wisconsin (35-3-1): The second-seeded Badgers are seeking their first NCAA title since 2011. Annie Pankowski, a sophomore from Laguna Beach, Calif., leads the team with 58 points.

Friday's other semifinal: 3 p.m., Clarkson vs. Boston College

Clarkson (30-4-5): The fifth-seeded Golden Knights, who defeated Minnesota 5-4 for the 2014 NCAA championship, upset Quinnipiac 1-0 in this year's quarterfinals.

Boston College (39-0): The top-seeded Eagles are trying to join the 2013 Gophers as the only NCAA Division I women's hockey teams to complete a perfect season.
