Wolves waive two to get to season-opening, 15-man roster

Team waive center Chris Johnson and forward Mike Harris

October 28, 2012 at 1:52PM

The Wolves, as expected, waived training-camp invitees center Chris Johnson and forward Mike Harris by today's deadline to set their season-opening roster.

That gets them down to the maximum 15 players, and it means former D Leaguer Will Conroy will start the season with the team as an extra point guard.

The Wolves have 14 players with guaranteed contracts, so all 14 were certain to make the final roster.

Conroy was signed to a small guarantee -- a finder's fee perhaps for helping convince Brandon Roy to sign here?

He'll probably stay on the roster at least until Ricky Rubio is back and proving he is healthy. Conroy's also insurance in case Luke Ridnour continues to be troubled by that herniated disc in his back.
