Gameday preview: Wolves at Spurs

Preview: The 26-6 Spurs have won eight of their past nine and 12 of their past 14 games after Saturday's 101-86 home victory over Denver. A seven-game winning streak ended with an 88-84 loss at Houston on Christmas Day. They're 17-0 at home and 9-6 on the road. The 28-1 Golden State Warriors are the NBA's only other unbeaten home team, at 14-0. … The Spurs lead the season series 1-0 after winning 108-83 at Target Center on Wednesday. They've won the past five meetings between the teams and haven't lost to the Wolves since April 8, 2014, at Target Center. … The 11-19 Wolves have lost three consecutive games since beating Sacramento and Brooklyn consecutively. They are 4-12 at home and 7-7 on the road.

Players to watch: Spurs point guard Tony Parker is shooting a career-high 54.8 percent from the field this season and has shot better than 64 percent in five games this season. The Spurs are 5-0 in those games. He's averaging 12.7 points and 4.9 assists. … Forward Kawhi Leonard leads the team in scoring (20.9 points) and steals (2.1) and is shooting 50.6 percent from the field, 47.5 percent from three-point distance and 88.5 percent from the free-throw line. He also helped hold Andrew Wiggins to 10 points on 2-for-11 shooting last week at Target Center. Wiggins also had his shot blocked five times that game.

Injuries: Wolves C Nikola Pekovic (Achilles' tendon surgery) is out. The Spurs report no injuries.
