Grizzlies endure injuries, coaching change

Preview: The 7-14 Grizzlies have lost 11 consecutive games — including the past three under newly named interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff — after Saturday's 116-111 loss at Cleveland. Those past nine losses have come without injured star guard Mike Conley. The Grizzlies last week fired second-year coach David Fizdale and promoted Bickerstaff, the former Gophers player and former Wolves assistant coach. … The Grizzlies are 23-7 in the two teams' past 30 meetings and won last season's series 3-1. But Conley is injured and Zach Randolph, Tony Allen and Vince Carter all are gone from that team.

Players to watch: Grizzlies star center Marc Gasol surpassed 10,000 career points Saturday. He's the eighth player since the 2000-01 season to reach 10,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, 2,000 assists and 1,000 blocked shots. Elton Brand, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki, Josh Smith and Gasol's brother, Pau, are the others.

Injuries: Wolves F Nemanja Bjelica has missed the past six games because of a left mid-foot sprain. The Grizzlies' Conley (Achilles' tendon), F Chandler Parsons (knee-ankle soreness), G Wayne Selden (quad) and F Brandan Wright (groin) all are listed as out.
