Wolves-Memphis game preview

February 23, 2011 at 3:11AM

Preview: The Wolves have lost five of the past six meetings, including both games this season and both by double figures. The Wolves still are dealing with the distractions and changes that come with trades, both reported and finalized. The Grizzlies, who played the Nuggets on Tuesday, get to play two of the three teams involved in the big Carmelo Anthony trade on successive nights. The Grizzlies entered the All-Star break on a four-game winning streak and entered Tuesday's games tied with Utah for eighth place in the Western Conference.

Players to watch: Michael Beasley, who made his return Tuesday after missing five games because of an ankle injury, had 19 points in the Wolves' last loss to Memphis. F Kevin Love has averaged just 12 points with 11.5 rebounds in two games vs. Memphis this season. Memphis F Zach Randolph had 23 points and 13 rebounds in the Grizzlies' 102-84 drubbing of the Wolves at Target Center on Feb. 2. F Rudy Gay had 22 and 7.

Numbers: Grizzlies center Marc Gasol was effective vs. the Wolves Feb. 2, blocking four shots. Randolph is third in the NBA in rebounding (Love is first).

Injuries: G Jonny Flynn (hip, groin) is doubtful. Memphis guard O.J. Mayo (shoulder) is out.
