Wolves need a run for playoffs

Preview: After an unexpected day off thanks to Monday's postponement because of unsafe playing conditions, the Wolves get a Clippers team coming off an impressive victory over Boston, the start of a very difficult two-game stretch; Minnesota hosts Golden State on Friday. The Wolves have won four of their past six games and entered Tuesday's slate of NBA games 3½ games out of the eighth spot in the Western Conference. The Clippers have been up and down in the six games since point guard Chris Paul returned from a thumb injury, going 3-3, but appear to be returning to form.

Players to watch: PG Ricky Rubio is coming off his fifth career triple-double in Saturday's loss in San Antonio. C Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 27.9 points and 13.1 rebounds in his past 25 games. Paul has averaged 18.2 points and 7.7 assists since his return from injury for Los Angeles.

Injuries: Wolves G Zach LaVine (knee), and F Adreian Payne (illness) are out. Clippers C Diamond Stone (knee) is out.
