In talking to several fans and media members about Kevin Garnett in the past few days, the common refrain is that Garnett is the Timberwolves, even he will have been gone nearly eight years when he makes his return Wednesday.
Maybe that's a sad statement about a team that's been around for more than a quarter-century, but Garnett was here for almost half those years and the numbers don't lie. In KG's 12 seasons with the Wolves, their record is 501-451 (.526). In all other years, their record is 313-791 (.260). He's not the same player he once was, but his past impact cannot be overstated.
