Wolves-Denver game preview

Preview: Having ended a two-game losing streak Monday with their second victory over Atlanta in six days, the Timberwolves head into their second matchup with the Nuggets this season with a 4-3 record over their past seven games. The Wolves, who lost 102-99 to Denver at Target Center on Nov. 3, are coming off a 104-90 victory vs. Atlanta in which they tied a season high with 15 three-pointers made. The Wolves are 3-2 in their past five games in Denver. The Nuggets ended a two-game losing streak Monday with a 106-102 victory in Los Angeles over a beat-up Clippers team playing without Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and J.J. Redick. The Nuggets have won four out of their past six games and are 6-8 at home.

Players to watch: Monday marked the fourth time this season the trio of C Karl-Anthony Towns, F/G Andrew Wiggins and G Zach LaVine all scored 20 or more points in the same game. The Wolves are 3-1 in those games. The trio combined to go 13-for-18 from three-point range against the Hawks. PG Ricky Rubio has 22 assists and no turnovers in his past 67-plus minutes of playing time. … Nuggets C Nikola Jokic (24 points, 10 rebounds) and F Danilo Gallinari (23 and 11) each had double-doubles vs. the Clippers on Monday. Gallinari and Wilson Chandler each had 19 points vs. the Wolves on Nov. 3.

Injuries: Neither team reports any injuries.
