Looking for a season sweep of Mavs

Preview: The Mavericks' winning "streak" ended at one game with Wednesday's 103-93 loss to the Lakers in Los Angeles. They opened a brief two-game California trip by winning 103-97 at Sacramento on Tuesday. Before that, they had lost five in a row and 13 of 17. … This is the teams' first meeting since December. The Wolves are 3-0 vs. Dallas and can sweep the season series for the first time since 1995-96.

Players to watch: Listed as probable because of knee tendinitis, Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki ranks sixth all-time in NBA scoring with 31,144 points, 275 points behind Wilt Chamberlain and fifth place. Nowitzki, who had 13 points and seven assists Wednesday, and Kobe Bryant are the only players in NBA history to play 20 seasons with the same team. … Mavs F Harrison Barnes is averaging a career-high 6.3 rebounds to go with his team-high 18.8 points per game. … Rookie of the Year candidate Dennis Smith Jr. is averaging 15.2 points and 5 assists.

Injuries: Wolves G Derrick Rose (sprained ankle) has missed four games and C Cole Aldrich (illness) has missed two and did not travel to Dallas; G Jimmy Butler remains out after February knee ligament surgery. Former Wolves G J.J. Barea missed Dallas' past two games because of personal reasons but was not listed on an injury report Thursday that includes Nowitzki and Dwight Powell (knee) as probable and G Seth Curry (leg surgery) and G Wesley Matthews (fibula fracture) as out.
