Former Wolves player and front-office executive Fred Hoiberg is in his second season as Bulls coach. … The 13-10 Bulls have won the first two games on a three-game homestand. They beat Miami 105-100 on Saturday and San Antonio 95-91 on Thursday. Before that, they followed a home victory over Cleveland by losing to Dallas, Portland and Detroit. … The Wolves swept last season's series, winning in Chicago in the season's second week and at Target Center in February.

Players to watch: Bulls guard Jimmy Butler's streak of 20-point games ended Thursday against San Antonio at 15 consecutive games. It was the longest such streak of his career, the best in the NBA this season and the longest by a Bull since Michael Jordan did so in 24 consecutive games during the 1995-96 season. Thibodeau tried to trade for Butler before last summer's draft. … New Bull Dwyane Wade last week reached his 5,000th career assist. He is the eighth player since 1983 to reach 20,000 career points, 5,000 assists and 4,000 rebounds. Jordan, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Gary Payton, Clyde Drexler and Kevin Garnett are the others.

Injuries: Wolves F Nemanja Bjelica has missed the past two games because of a sore ankle and is questionable. C Nikola Pekovic is out for the season because of recurring ankle pain. Bulls G Michael Carter-Williams is out because of a sprained wrist.
