The teams meet for the first time since last month's trade that sent Thad Young to the Nets and brought Kevin Garnett back home. Young is starting at power forward for a Brooklyn team that ended a five-game losing streak Saturday by winning 94-87 at Philadelphia. At 26-38, they've also lost 10 of their past 15 and trail Charlotte by three games for the Eastern Conference's eighth playoff spot. … The Nets are 2-1 at Target Center since the team moved to Brooklyn, 4-17 in their past 21 games there when they were the New Jersey Nets. The Wolves won the season first meeting 98-91 at Barclays Center in the season's opening week, the game before Wolevs guard Ricky Rubio went down injured.

Players to watch: Young had a 21-point, nine-rebound game Saturday against the 76ers and has made a three-point shot in a career-best 11 consecutive games. He made one in 10 consecutive games in November/December 2009 while with Philadelphia … Nets center Brook Lopez has five double-doubles in 12 games since the All-Star break after having just five in 30 games before it. … Nets F Joe Johnson now leads the NBA in consecutive games with at least one basket made, at 866. San Antonio's Tim Duncan's 1,310-game streak ended a week ago against Chicago.

Injuries: Rubio, C Nikola Pekovic, F Kevin Garnett and G Gary Neal all did not play Sunday at San Antonio and their status is questionable at best for Monday's game. Forwards Anthony Bennett (sprained ankle), Shabazz Muhammad (finger surgery) and Robbie Hummel (fractured hand) are out. Nets G Sergei Karasev (dislocated kneecap/torn knee ligament) and F Mirza Teletovic (lung blood clots) are out.
