Ankle issues plaguing Wolves

Wolves update: The Wolves enter another game without much clarity at point guard. Derrick Rose (right ankle) and Jeff Teague (left ankle) missed the past two games. Teague is questionable and Rose is doubtful Wednesday. Forward Robert Covington is also questionable because of ankle soreness. … Karl-Anthony Towns finished with a stat line of 28 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and five blocks against New Orleans. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Towns is the second player to record consecutive games of more than 25 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five blocks since Kareem Abdul Jabbar did it four times in 1973-74.

Celtics update: Guard Kyrie Irving suffered a scratched left cornea in the Celtics' loss to the Spurs on Monday. His status for Wednesday is unknown. … The Wolves got to witness Gordon Hayward's best game of the season when the teams met at Target Center on Dec. 1. Hayward went for 30 points in a 118-109 victory for Boston. Hayward hasn't topped 20 points in another game this season.
